Today 2nd February:
Mostly cloudy with outbreaks of rain and drizzle this morning and into the afternoon. However rain is expected to turn more showery later this afternoon with late bright or sunny spells possible. Strong to gale force southwesterly then westerly winds. Maximum temperature 11 °C.
Tonight:
Clear spells and occasionally heavy showers this evening and overnight, the showers moving through quickly on the force westerly winds. Minimum temperature 3 °C.
Saturday 3rd February:
A brighter, but colder day with some brief sunny spells and frequent, occasionally heavy showers, these perhaps turning wintry over Shetland during the afternoon. Westerly gales easing. Maximum temperature 7 °C.
Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:
Rather cold and showery throughout across Shetland, the showers occasionally wintry, especially later Tuesday. Showers for Orkney too, but possibly more persistent rain later Sunday and early Monday.
