A mainly cloudy but dry day. A few sunnier spells are possible at times, especially across Shetland, while Orkney might see the odd light shower. Feeling chilly with brisk easterly winds. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Tonight:

It will be a dry but rather cloudy night across the Isles. Shetland will have the best of the developing clearer spells. Brisk easterly winds. Minimum temperature 4 °C.

Saturday 9th March:

A dry day with patchy amounts of cloud between a few bright or sunny intervals. Remaining rather chilly in brisk easterly winds. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

A largely cloudy period with occasional light showers for Orkney. Shetland will see the best of the brighter spells, albeit with the odd shower possible too. Rather breezy at times.
