Most places will have a dry day with bright or sunny intervals, best of the sunshine over Shetland. A few light showers will develop over Orkney later today. Remaining rather chilly with brisk easterly winds. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Tonight:

Mainly dry with clear periods at first. It will become cloudy overnight with light showers breaking out. Easterly breeze, fresh across Orkney. Minimum temperature 3 °C.

Sunday 10th March:

Still some bright spells over Shetland, otherwise mostly cloudy with a few light showers. Brisk east winds over Orkney but light winds across Shetland. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Mainly dry with sunny spells and light winds on Monday. Becoming cloudier on Tuesday and Wednesday with rain spreading up from the south, accompanied by strong southerly winds.
