Mainly dry with bright spells and light winds for Shetland. Remaining cloudy with outbreaks of rain over Orkney, brisk easterly winds gradually easing. Staying cold. Maximum temperature 6 °C.

Tonight:

Mainly cloudy with outbreaks of rain for Orkney. This cloud and rain spreads east over Shetland through the night. Possibly some drier clears spells for Orkney around dawn. Minimum temperature 4 °C.

Tuesday 12th March:

Drier at first for Orkney before cloud and rain spread up from the south later. Remaining cloudy with outbreaks of rain for Shetland. Strengthening southerly winds. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Rain and cloud clear to showers through Wednesday, accompanied by strong southwesterly winds. Drier with lighter winds on Thursday, before rain spreads north Friday.
