Stromness resident Janette Park has been elected in the Stromness and South Isles By-Election to represent the area on Orkney Islands Council.

Councillor Park (Independent) was elected with 757 votes. Magnus Thomson (Independent) received 125 votes.

The turnout was 39.76%.

The By-election was occasioned by the retiral in office of James Stockan.
