Bright spells and dry Shetland at first, cloudy with rain Orkney. Cloud and rain spread over Shetland during the afternoon with Orkney becoming dry later. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Tonight:

Cloudy with outbreaks of rain over Shetland clearing to showers later. Showers Orkney soon clear to leave the night dry with clear spells. Minimum temperature 3 °C.

Wednesday 10th April:

Showers clear Shetland leaving the Northern Isles briefly dry and bright in the morning. Rain spreads north from the afternoon. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Showers clear north Thursday morning. Dry and bright conditions follow from the afternoon and through Friday. Scattered showers return from Saturday afternoon.
