Mainly dry, bright and breezy start with sunny spells, but outbreaks of occasionally heavy rain reach Orkney by late morning and Shetland soon after midday. The rain across Orkney turns more showery this afternoon with some sunny spells developing. Maximum temperature 11 °C.
Tonight:
More persistent rain over Shetland soon clearing to leave some late sunny spells and occasionally heavy, blustery showers. Blustery showers continue overnight with some clear spells. Minimum temperature 2 °C.
Sunday 14th April:
A bright morning with sunny spells with showers easing, however the showers become more widespread, and occasionally heavy, for the afternoon. Breezy. Maximum temperature 9 °C.
Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:
Continuing unsettled with occasionally heavy showers through Monday and Tuesday and the risk of more persistent rain for a time on Wednesday. Rather cold with, for Shetland, some hill snow.
