Sunny intervals and a few showers this morning, briefly heavy across Shetland at first. This afternoon will be mainly dry with sunny spells but Orkney clouding over later. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

Tonight:

Rain will spread northeast this evening, clearing Orkney by midnight but lingering across Shetland until later. A few showers following into Orkney in the early hours. Minimum temperature 12 °C.

Friday 9th August:

Shetland cloudy with occasional rain, drier and brighter towards evening. Orkney seeing bright intervals and a few passing showers. Brisk southwesterly winds. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Rather cloudy with showers on Saturday, breezy. Rain likely later on Sunday and at first on Monday, otherwise dry.
