Today 31st August:

Settled weather with all staying dry with prolonged periods of sunshine across Orkney throughout, extending to Shetland for the afternoon. The light south to southeast winds will freshen by late afternoon. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Tonight:

Staying dry with clear skies generally persisting. South to southeast breezes gradually strengthening through the evening and night, perhaps bringing some cloudier skies towards dawn Sunday. Minimum temperature 9 °C.

Sunday 1st September:

Mostly dry with best of the brighter spells across Shetland and during the morning. However otherwise rather cloudy with a risk of showers developing late in the day. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Monday and Tuesday rather cloudy with occasional patchy rain, also a risk of heavier, thundery outbreaks, chiefly for Tuesday. Wednesday drier with brighter spells increasing from the west.
