A mostly cloudy day with rain at times, perhaps the odd heavier burst across Shetland in the afternoon. Strong northeasterly then northerly winds with gales developing across Shetland. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Tonight:

Quite cloudy at first with some patchy rain. Cloud thinning through the night and becoming mostly dry, with the odd shower possible. Strong north to northeast winds with gales. Minimum temperature 6 °C.

Wednesday 9th October:

Colder but brighter with sunny or clear spells and a few showers, with strong northerly winds only slowly easing through the day. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Remaining colder on Thursday with sunny spells and showers, with strong northwesterly winds easing. Staying cold with showers or perhaps longer spells of rain at times Friday and Saturday.
