Today 10th October:

A cold and bright day with some good spells of sunshine and a few brief showers. Fresh northerly winds, strong over Shetland backing northwesterly and easing. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Tonight:

A drier evening over Shetland but some heavier showers reaching Orkney from mid evening, these moving up to Shetland overnight as Orkney turns clearer but windier. Minimum temperature 3 °C.

Friday 11th October:

Bright or sunny intervals and occasional showers. These may becoming more frequent over Orkney later in the day. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Saturday bright and cold with sunshine and the odd shower, perhaps wintry over Shetland. Sunday mainly dry and sunny. Some rain overnight early Monday then drier, milder, windier.
