Another Orkney Production Presents: Billy’s Night Oot

Billy Scollie worked for many years as the projectionist at the Phoenix cinema, Junction Road, before transferring to the new cinema at the Pickaquoy Centre when the Junction  Road one closed. 

Billy was passionate about all film but especially footage of Orkney and was a great supporter of our Orkney archive film nights. His sudden death in 2004 was a great shock but in conjunction with the Pickaquoy Centre we continued our annual programme but named it in his memory, Billy’s Night Oot.
