Some bright or sunny intervals this morning and few passing showers. Shetland will see bright intervals and the odd shower this afternoon, but thickening cloud will bring to Orkney later in the afternoon. Cold. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Tonight:

A cloudy night across Orkney with rain, occasionally heavy. Dry this evening across Shetland before rain spreads north in the early hours. A cold night. Minimum temperature 3 °C.

Saturday 12th October:

Cloudy in the morning with rain dying out. The afternoon will be dry with brighter skies spreading from the north. A few showers likely in the evening, wintry over hills. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

A few early showers on Sunday otherwise dry, cold and bright. Mainly dry and milder on Monday and Tuesday.
