Today 15th October:

Last of the rain will clear north from Unst by morning. A dry day with long sunny spells but cloud increasing a little in the afternoon. Fresh southerly winds becoming strong in the afternoon. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Tonight:

Mainly cloudy but some breaks at times across Orkney. A mild and windy night with strong southerly winds perhaps touching gale force over Shetland. Minimum temperature 9 °C.

Wednesday 16th October:

A mainly cloudy and mild day with outbreaks of rain spreading north. Rain may turn heavy at times during late afternoon and evening. Strong southerly winds. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Outbreaks of heavy rain clearing Thursday morning then brighter with lighter winds. Changeable and unsettled for Friday and weekend with bands of rain moving east and strong winds at times.
