Today 17th October:

Heavy rain will clear northeast during the morning, clearing Shetland by midday. Staying largely cloudy with patchy rain and also some haar though Orkney brightening later. Mainly light to moderate winds, but strong at first over Shetland. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Tonight:

Any remaining haar over Shetland soon clearing this evening then a dry evening and night with some good clear spells. Moderate southerly winds. Minimum temperature 9 °C.

Friday 18th October:

A dry bright day with some sunny spells, the best of these over Orkney, with the chance of some cloudier periods over Shetland. Strengthening southerly winds. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

After some rain Friday night, Saturday will be mainly dry and sunny. Wet and windy on Sunday with a chance of severe gales developing. Sunny intervals and blustery showers Monday.
