On Saturday the Deerness Hall was full of over-60s for the annual Christmas Lunch.

The hall committee prepared the meal as a combined effort using mostly Deerness grown produce. They served around 80 people with a 3-course lunch of soup, turkey and trifle.
Unfortunately, a mix-up over the date meant Auskerry, who had been so good last year, weren’t able to entertain us.

So, the afternoon wound up after the obligatory raffle and Terry Penna had thanked all those who had cooked, served, washed-up and generally helped to make it a success.
