On 12th of January 1966 “Batman”, starring Adam West as Batman, Burt Ward as Robin, and Cesar Romero as The Joker, was first shown on US TV channel ABC.

It is known for its camp style and upbeat theme music, as well as its intentionally humorous, simplistic morality aimed at its preteen audience.

Fight scenes included comic style words which overlaid the actions: ‘POW’, ‘WHACK’ etc.

It played for  120 episodes  on the ABC network for three seasons from January 12, 1966, to March 14, 1968, twice weekly during the first two seasons, and weekly for the third.
