An illustrated talk by Fiona Grahame will tell some of the stories of the men who died on 1st March 1917 when the M-Class Destroyer HMS Pheasant struck a mine off Rora Head, Hoy, with all lives lost.

The talk takes place on 1st March in the Friends Room of the St Magnus Centre, Kirkwall from 2 to 3pm. There will be a drop-in Q & A between 3 and 4pm. It is also hoped to film the talk and make it available free to view on The Orkney News YouTube Channel.
The talk will include the images of the men provided by their descendants. Copies of the book ‘HMS Pheasant 1917 who were the lost men and boys?’ will be on sale, £19.99.
There is a Facebook event page if readers wish to find out more about the talk
