On 30th September 1938 the UK Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain returned to London with the Anglo-German Declaration (the resolution) of the Munich Agreement (German: Münchener Abkommen) to commit to peaceful methods signed by both Hitler and himself.
On 15 March 1939 Hitler invaded Czechoslovakia.
On 20 January 2025 Donald Trump was inaugurated as President of the USA and since then has embarked on swift blitzkrieg actions weakening federal organisations and threatening neighbouring countries.
On 28 February 2025 the most disgraceful scene ever to be broadcast from the Oval office took place when, surrounded by his devoted acolytes, President Trump and his head henchman, J.D. Vance, berated Ukrainian President Zelenskyy for not thanking America enough. It was the most humiliating day, so far, for the USA.
On 4 March 2025, Trump addressed the US Congress. Heckled by some of the Democrats present, he went on to give the longest presidential speech on record.
Meanwhile the unelected South African Elon Musk is cutting and slashing his way through federal departments. Many military veterans who found employment with federal agencies have been sacked. The National Parks Service which cares for America’s wonderful outdoor spaces has been slashed. A thousand Parks workers were sacked in February and the long knives are continuing to slice through this invaluable service.

USAID has been devastated. “There is not a single area of development and humanitarian assistance USAID has not been involved in,” said Oxfam America’s President and CEO Abby Maxman, who has been working in international development for 30 years.
“People at USAID have been thought leaders implementing ideas at scale, in wide ranging areas — I don’t think there is a major area of the development system in which USAID did not bring its technical know-how, research, and evidence.”
USAID’s work abroad covers many regions and issues including HIV prevention, the humanitarian crisis in Congo, war relief in Ukraine, among numerous others.
These are cruel, heartless acts which have left the reputation of the USA in tatters in the eyes of democratic countries.
What about the promises Trump made to his followers prior to his election?
The price of eggs – “When I win, I will immediately bring prices down, starting on Day One.”
Americans can continue to expect high prices for eggs this year, new estimates show, due to the ongoing avian flu outbreak and inflation. Egg prices are estimated to increase about 20% in 2025.
Ending the war in Ukraine – At a CNN town hall in May 2023, Trump said: “They’re dying, Russians and Ukrainians. I want them to stop dying. And I’ll have that done — I’ll have that done in 24 hours.”
President Donald Trump is ordering a pause on shipments of US military aid to Ukraine after his heated Oval Office argument with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky last week, a White House official told CNN Monday.”
In Gaza, where Israel has blocked aid getting in, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has bypassed Congress and signed a declaration to expedite $4 billion in military assistance to Israel. – Truth Out
The announcement came just a day after the administration notified Congress of $3 billion in military assistance to Israel, including over 35,000 2,000-pound bombs, reversing the Biden administration’s pause on such weapons, and thousands of other bombs and JDAMs. Israel has used 2,000-pound bombs extensively in its genocide in Gaza, in what experts have said are likely war crimes.
Philippe Lazzarini, the UNRWA Commissioner-General said:
“The decision of Israel to stop aid into Gaza threatens the lives of civilians exhausted by 16 months of brutal war…Lifesaving water, hospitals, health centres and electricity are essential to complement basic food assistance. Aid and these basic services are non-negotiable. They must never be used as weapons of war.”
EU Leaders held a special council of defence in Brussels on Thursday 6 March to ReArm Europe. The French President Emmanuel Macron in a televised address to his nation said:
“The Russian threat is here and is affecting European countries, affecting us. I want to believe that the U.S. will stay by our side, but we have to be ready if they don’t.”
The First Minister John Swinney, expressed Scotland’s support for Ukraine in a statement to The Scottish Parliament on 4 March.
“Scotland’s approach, internationally, will continue to be led and guided by our compassion for Ukraine. Now, 25 years into the life of this modern Parliament, Scotland chooses to stand for democracy, for human rights and the rule of law, at home and among our courageous allies like Ukraine.
“These are the underpinnings of democracy, of prosperity, and of every freedom democracy provides. This is the solidarity among allies that will deliver Ukraine from Russia’s barbaric aggression, while protecting her heritage, her culture, and her social and economic future.
“Ukraine’s future, and her fate, is our future and our fate.”
It’s incredible that a President of the USA in such a short time has not only damaged his country’s international reputation, but domestically he has failed to keep his promises and has sacked thousands of workers. In his abandonment of Ukraine, he really did reveal the cards he had in his hand.
In ‘All of Trump’s Russia Ties in 7 Charts’, published in March 2017 Politico put together the links between Trump and Putin:
These charts illustrate dozens of those links, including meetings between Russian officials and members of Trump’s campaign and administration; his daughter’s ties to Putin’s friends; Trump’s 2013 visit to Moscow for the Miss Universe pageant; and his short-lived mixed martial arts venture with one of Putin’s favorite athletes.
And in July 2018, The Peter Tatchell Foundation published five facts that expose Trump’s Russia links :
It’s now shockingly clear that Donald Trump is Putin’s poodle.
We report FIVE FACTS everyone should know about Trump’s Russian money laundering & his high level links to the Kremlin & Russian oligarchs. Trump is financially, politically & morally compromised by the Putin regime.
The warnings were all there.
And if you think continually giving in to the threats and bullying of the convicted felon in The Whitehouse will somehow have no impact on you and yours, just remember these words:
“An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile, hoping it will eat him last.” Winston Churchill.
