Orkney will see rain this morning before it becomes dry this afternoon albeit with a lot of low cloud. Rain will spread north to Shetland by late morning, then damp this afternoon with rain or drizzle. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Tonight:

Orkney will be mostly dry and cloudy. Some misty low cloud across Shetland with the chance of some rain or drizzle at times. Light winds. Minimum temperature 7 °C.

Sunday 9 March:

Outbreaks of rain across Shetland in the morning will become persistent through the afternoon. Orkney dry for most of the day but rain by evening. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

A much colder few days with showers, these wintry at times. Overnight frost and icy patches.
