A bright but cold day with scattered showers and some sunnier spells. Showers may be wintry at times and perhaps frequent for Shetland in the afternoon. Fresh and gusty north or northwesterly winds. Maximum temperature 6 °C.

Tonight:

Scattered showers continuing through the night, these perhaps wintry with hail and occasionally heavy. Showers will tend to ease a little towards the end of the night. Fresh northerly winds. Minimum temperature 2 °C.

Wednesday 12 March:

The odd light wintry shower to start but otherwise a mostly dry morning with bright spells. A few scattered showers in the afternoon, mainly for Shetland. Fresh winds. Maximum temperature 6 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

The cold showery conditions and brisk winds continue on Thursday. Becoming drier with lighter winds on Friday. Bright spells and scattered showers on Saturday.
