The odd light wintry shower to start but otherwise a mostly dry morning with bright spells. A few scattered wintry showers in the afternoon, mainly for Shetland. Cold northerly winds. Maximum temperature 6 °C.
Tonight:
A rather cloudy but chilly night with a few scattered showers, these mostly light and falling as snow on higher ground. Fresh northerly winds will ease somewhat. Minimum temperature 1 °C.
Thursday 13 March:
Chilly conditions continuing with scattered showers across the Isles, these perhaps wintry over higher ground. Orkney will remain rather cloudy through the day, best of the sunnier spells for Shetland. Maximum temperature 6 °C.
Outlook for Friday to Sunday:
A settled period with variable amounts of cloud and some sunshine at times. Most places will remain dry, however the odd light shower can’t be ruled out at times.
