Today 24 March:
Outbreaks of rain, occasionally heavy, throughout the day for Shetland. Orkney will start off dry but rain spreading here from late morning, with further outbreaks through the afternoon. Fresh to strong southwest winds. Maximum temperature 8 °C.
Tonight:
Rain across the Northern Isles will turn lighter and increasingly patchy through the evening and overnight. Largely dry by dawn, but a few spots of light rain still possible. Minimum temperature 6 °C.
Tuesday 25 March:
A cloudy start, particularly across Shetland where some patchy light rain is likely. Brightening up through the morning with some sunny spells developing. Then a mainly dry afternoon. Maximum temperature 8 °C.
Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:
A dry start to Wednesday, but turning breezier with increasing cloud and rain later. Remaining breezy with further outbreaks of rain or showers at times Thursday and Friday.
