Today 5 July :

Saturday will stay overcast with periods of low cloud and mainly light rain throughout the day. The light breeze over Shetland will freshen from the northeast while a moderate westerly breeze continues over Orkney. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Tonight:

Drier conditions spread south across Shetland as light rain becomes more persistent over Orkney in the evening. Rain will persist over Orkney while Shetland stays dry through the night. Minimum temperature 10 °C.

Sunday 6 July :

Early light rain over Orkney will soon clear to leave the Northern Isles dry with increasing bright or sunny spells through the rest of the day. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Monday and Tuesday will continue dry with sunny spells increasing during Tuesday. Cloud and patchy rain will spread east from Tuesday night becoming mostly confined to Orkney Wednesday.
