A mainly dry day with bright or sunny spells. Shetland starting sunny then cloud increasing from west. Orkney cloudy at first then brightening. Light winds turn southwesterly later. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Tonight:

Cloud and outbreaks of rain over Orkney soon spread east over Shetland through the evening with some areas of haar. Staying cloudy overnight with mist or light drizzle at times. Minimum temperature 12 °C.

Wednesday 9 July :

Cloudy morning with some mist or light drizzle at times. Perhaps brighter for a time around midday, before further cloud, rain and areas of haar through the afternoon and evening. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Staying cloudy with mist or drizzle and occasional haar on Thursday with occasionally fresh southwest winds. Becoming brighter and warmer through Friday and Saturday as winds back more southerly.
