A few morning showers are expected, especially across Shetland, otherwise a dry and bright day with some good spells of sunshine developing. Mainly light northwesterly winds. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Tonight:

Dry with some light sunny spells this evening. Shetland remains dry with clear spells overnight, but cloud increases across Orkney, with perhaps some patchy rain by end of night. Minimum temperature 9 °C.

Wednesday 30 July :

Rather cloudy start across Orkney with a little rain, otherwise a dry and bright day across the Northern Isles with some sunny spells. Light and variable winds. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Rather cloudy Thursday and Friday with showers, perhaps a longer spell of rain for Shetland on Friday with fresh or strong northwesterly winds. Largely dry and bright Saturday, winds easing.
