This Evening and Tonight:

Severe gales or perhaps storm force winds for a time this evening across Orkney. Otherwise a windy night with showers or longer spells of rain, occasionally heavy. Minimum temperature 12 °C.

Tuesday 5 August:

Periods of rain and gales at first across Shetland. Otherwise brisk west to northwest winds maintaining a run of scattered showers and brighter spells. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Brighter spells and showers for much of the period, but a longer period of rain for a time early Wednesday. Winds brisk west to southwest.
