Showery rain at first over Orkney, this spreading to Shetland through the late evening and overnight. Turning drier for Orkney through the early hours. Strong southeast winds with coastal gales. Minimum temperature 13 °C.

Monday 8 September :

Rain, cloud, and strong southeast winds clearing Shetland in the morning. Otherwise dry with bright or sunny spells. Much lighter winds than Sunday. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Mainly dry through Tuesday into Wednesday morning with sunny spells. Cloudier with rain late Wednesday, clearing Thursday morning before further showers. Windy few days with strong south or southeast winds.
