A cloudy start with outbreaks of rain but soon becoming drier and brighter across Orkney, then across Shetland by afternoon. The rest of the day, mainly dry with sunny spells. Mostly light winds but windy across Shetland at first. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Tonight:

A largely dry night with long clear spells and becoming rather chilly in Orkney, The odd light shower will move over Shetland. Minimum temperature 5 °C.

Monday 29 September :

A dry and sunny morning then a dry afternoon but cloud increasing from the west with freshening southerly winds. Patchy light rain in the evening. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Mainly dry with bright spells and fresh southerly winds on Tuesday. Unsettled and often windy with spells of rain on Wednesday and Thursday.
