A fine, dry and bright morning. Cloud gradually feeding from the southwest through the afternoon, perhaps bringing a few outbreaks of patchy light rain to Orkney towards early evening, as the southerly winds freshen. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Tonight:

Some limited clear spells during the largely dry evening, then cloud building overnight to bring some patchy rain before dawn, chiefly across Orkney. Southerly winds fresh to strong. Minimum temperature 11 °C.

Tuesday 30 September :

A rather cloudy day with some patchy light rain about. Best chance of any brighter spells expected late in the day. Southerly winds initially strong. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Unsettled with periods of rain turning heavy and persistent at times, particularly on Friday. Winds remaining in the south, occasionally strong, also perhaps gale force for Friday.
