A mix of scattered showers and brighter spells for the morning. Cloud thickening from noon bringing patchy light rain mid-afternoon which turns more persistent late afternoon. Fresh to strong west to southwest winds. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Tonight:

Cloud and rain early evening, soon clearing to the east leaving scattered light showers and clear spells late evening and overnight. Brisk westerly winds. Minimum temperature 10 °C.

Thursday 9 October :

Mainly dry and bright morning, with only a few isolated light showers about,mostly confined to Shetland. Cloud and rain feeding from the west during the afternoon. Brisk westerly winds. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Friday, Saturday cloudy with periods of mostly light rain. Increasing chance of drier, brighter conditions edging from the north Sunday, as the brisk wind veer to the north and ease.
