Shetland staying dry and seeing good sunny spells. Orkney generally dry, but a few early drizzly showers may crop up, then brighter spells increasing into the afternoon. Winds light and variable. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Tonight:

Shetland dry with clear spells for the evening, but cloudy skies and scattered showers over Orkney by mid-evening, extending to Shetland overnight. Minimum temperature 5 °C.

Saturday 18 October :

A cloudy start with some light drizzly showers about, but soon turning dry over Orkney during the morning with brighter spells developing, perhaps also for Shetland for the late afternoon. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Turning unsettled with an area of rain reaching from the south during the afternoon, which turns heavier for the evening. Showers or longer periods of rain for Monday and Tuesday.
