Cold and windy with frequent, sometimes heavy showers, but longer spells of rain possible over Shetland. Strong or gale force northwest winds, but severe gales over Shetland at times. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Tonight:

Remaining very windy through the evening blustery showers continuing, feeling very cold in the northerly winds. Winds gradually easing towards dawn on Sunday. Minimum temperature 3 °C.

Sunday 26 October :

Winds continuing to ease and showers dying out in the morning with some brighter weather for much of the day. Cloud and rain perhaps skirting Orkney during the evening. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Continuing cold and unsettled for the start of the week with further showery conditions, turning a little milder later on Tuesday but still blustery at times.
