On the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month 2025 a short ceremony took place in Kirkwall at the War Memorial to mark Armistice Day.

Sunday 9 November was Remembrance Day when parishes across Orkney marked the ending of two world wars, the declaration of Peace, and remembered all those who have lost their lives in wars and conflicts.
