Today 18 November :

Periods of rain, sleet and snow over Orkney will begin to clear from the afternoon. Occasional morning showers over Shetland will become frequent while turning to heavy snow in the afternoon. Northerly winds will strengthen during the day. Maximum temperature 3 °C.

Tonight:

The evening will be mostly dry over Orkney but heavy snow showers over Shetland will spread south from the late evening. Continuing strong northerly winds. Minimum temperature -1 °C.

Wednesday 19 November :

Wednesday will stay cold with strong northerly winds. Frequent and heavy snow showers will continue throughout the day. Maximum temperature 4 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

The strong northerly winds and frequent snow showers will ease and clear Thursday. A band of locally heavy rain will pass east Friday with scattered showers following during Saturday.
