A FLOOD ALERT has been issued for Orkney.
This alert is for coastal flooding. On Tuesday into Wednesday, due to a combination of very strong winds, a storm surge and spring tides, there is a risk of coastal flooding. This may include wave and spray overtopping to exposed coastal areas and high sea levels affecting low lying areas. The greatest risk is around the time of high tide on Tuesday evening/ Wednesday afternoon Potential impacts include flooding of low lying land roads and properties.
