Any overnight cloud soon clearing Orkney, becoming dry and sunny all day. Cloud and light rain clearing Shetland through late morning, staying dry and sunny in the afternoon. Light southwest winds freshen later. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Tonight:

Dry with clear spells at first but strengthening southwest winds will bring more by way of cloud, and a few showers, through the night. Minimum temperature 6 °C.

Saturday 13 December :

Variable cloud and chance of a few showers to start. Heavy rain pushes east through late morning, becoming lighter through the evening. Southwesterly gales develop through the afternoon. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Remaining unsettled on Sunday and Monday with showers or longer spells of occasionally heavy rain. Mild, with strong to gale force southerly or southwesterly winds. Bright spells and showers Tuesday.
