The morning will begin with scattered showers and bright spells. The wind will soon strengthen as cloud spreads east with persistent and heavy rain following from the early afternoon. This rain will clear Orkney in the late afternoon. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Tonight:

A cloudy night with rain but drier over Orkney. The rain will clear as the cloud breaks after midnight. The strong wind will begin to ease towards the morning. Minimum temperature 7 °C.

Sunday 14 December :

After another dry and bright start before cloud and rain spreads east from late morning. This rain will become patchy later in the afternoon. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Monday and Tuesday will see showers at times, these interspersed with sunny spells. The wind will strengthen as cloud and rain spread east Wednesday, turning showery later.
