Fresh to strong southwest winds will push a mix of scattered showers and brighter spells across the Northern Isles for today. Outbreaks more frequent across Shetland. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Tonight:

Showers and clear spells continuing, again with Orkney seeing the best of the sheltered. Southwest winds moderate to fresh, occasionally strong across Shetland. Minimum temperature 3 °C.

Tuesday 16 December :

Another day of brighter spells mixed with showers. This time outbreaks few and far between for the morning, before building mid to late afternoon. Fresh to strong southwest winds. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Southerly gales and periods of occasionally heavy rain at first Wednesday, clearing to blustery showers for the afternoon. Strong south to southwest winds and showers through Thursday and Friday.
