Orkney Pride is now registered as an official charity (SC054135). The organisation has also changed its name from ‘Orkney Pride’ to ‘Queer Orcades’.

In a statement released by the organisation, Beatrice Copland, Chairperson, Queer Orcades said :

“We’re also thrilled to be welcoming the former Pride in Orkney team to ours! Arts Club and Social Events will continue to be a mainstay, just under a different banner. On top of this, Rachael Taylor has been kind enough to design us a brand new logo, featuring a new mascot of sorts!”

And continued :

“Should you wish to contact us, our social media isn’t starting fresh – we’re merely updating the name – though we are updating the email to queerorcades@gmail.com

“Despite these major changes, one thing that will remain the same is our dedication to you. We remain resolute that our annual event is to be a highlight in the years to come and that our collective voices shall be heard.

“We hope to see you for our 90s/00s Disco at The Orkney Distillery on January 17th at 8pm and, most importantly…
