A few early showers this morning, otherwise mainly dry with sunny spells. More in the way of cloud developing in the afternoon with some spots of rain, becoming windier. Maximum temperature 6 °C.

Tonight:

A cloudy evening with showery outbreaks of rain. Turning drier later in the night for Orkney with some clearer spells possible. Southerly winds becoming strong through the evening. Minimum temperature 3 °C.

Thursday 15 January :

Rather cloudy with outbreaks of rain for Shetland to start, clearing to bright spells and showers in the afternoon. Mainly dry with sunny spells for Orkney. Maximum temperature 6 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Remaining changeable on Friday with a risk of rain. Otherwise turning generally drier and brighter with the odd shower at times for the weekend.
