One of Scotland’s leading health charities, Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland (CHSS), is asking people across Orkney to get the kettle on for a special cause this year.

The 2026 Tartan Tea Party has been launched by the charity this week encouraging people across Scotland to get involved and gather their brew crew for a fundraiser on International Tea Day on May 21st.

Last year’s Tartan Tea Party raised more than £49,000 through dozens of parties from Annan to Aberdeen and all points in between.

Louise MacLeod, Community, Events and Corporate Fundraiser at Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland said:

“At CHSS, we say ‘never underestimate the power of a cup of tea’. Living with or supporting someone with one of our conditions can be challenging and events such as the Tartan Tea Party are crucial to create time for people to get together, share support and advice as well as have fun.

“We had a fantastic first year and we’re looking to build on that success in 2026 by encouraging as many people as possible to host a Tartan Tea Party of their own and get in on the fun.

“Our friendly fundraising team is on hand to help you organise your big day.”

The charity is encouraging as many people across the region as possible to join the Tartan Tea Party whether it’s friends and families, playgroups, nurseries, schools, sports clubs, community organizations, or local businesses.

CHSS aims to reach 175,000 people living with its conditions by 2028 through its Community Healthcare Support Services. Funds raised through activities such as the Tartan Tea Party are essential in supporting this goal.
