It will be a dry day with some bright and sunny spells. Turning cloudier in the late afternoon over Orkney at first then Shetland later. Light winds in the morning but strengthening later. Maximum temperature 6 °C.
Tonight:
A band of rain spreads eastwards over Orkney this evening, dry and cloudy for Shetland. Overnight, rain spreads into Shetland and becomes heavy. Strong southeasterly winds and risk of gales. Minimum temperature 2 °C.
Friday 3 April :
Cloudy in the morning with rain clearing to the east. Showers in the afternoon with some bright or sunny spells. Strong southeasterly winds becoming westerly, gales possible in the morning. Maximum temperature 6 °C.
Outlook for Saturday to Monday:
Showers and bright spells most of Saturday, then rain and strong winds overnight into Sunday. Heavy rain and strong winds clearing to blustery showers Sunday. Dry with sunny spells Monday.
