A few bright spells to start for Shetland. Otherwise a rather cloudy day with showery outbreaks of rain. Drier for Orkney later in the afternoon. Fresh to strong winds. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Tonight:

A cloudy evening for Shetland with showery outbreaks of rain, but drier and brighter for Orkney. The rest of the night will see further cloud and a few showers. Minimum temperature 5 °C.

Sunday 19 April :

A cloudy day with showery outbreaks of rain, especially for Shetland where rather dull conditions will prevail. Some brighter spells possible for Orkney later. Moderate to fresh northwesterly winds. Maximum temperature 10 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

High pressure dominates bringing largely settled but fairly cloudy conditions. Some bright or sunny spells on Monday and Tuesday.
