A bright start for Shetland but cloudier with a few spots of light rain at first for Orkney. Outbreaks of rain will become more frequent for Orkney in the afternoon, but Shetland will be mostly dry until evening. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Tonight:

A cloudy evening with outbreaks of rain for Orkney which will spread across Shetland too. Becoming rather misty into the early hours with further showery outbreaks of rain expected. Minimum temperature 7 °C.

Monday 27 April :

A rather cloudy and damp start to the morning with light and patchy rain. Becoming drier through the day with some bright or sunnier spells possible in the afternoon. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Mainly dry throughout this period. Some misty low cloud may linger at times, especially on Tuesday but otherwise lengthy sunny periods are expected.
