A mainly dry day with some good sunny spells, especially for Shetland. However the odd light afternoon shower not to be ruled out for Orkney. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Tonight:

A dry evening with some late sunny spells, but turning cloudier for Shetland. The rest of the night will be dry and breezy with cloud becoming widespread. Minimum temperature 6 °C.

Tuesday 19 May :

A cloudy but mostly dry morning ahead of patchy light rain spreading north in the afternoon. Strong southeasterly winds. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Variable amounts of cloud with showers or a few spells of rain, some of which may be on the heavy side. Risk of sea mist and fog at times.
