A largely dry day with bright or sunny spells, the odd isolated shower possible in the morning. Turning cloudier over Orkney by the end of the afternoon. Fresh southwesterly winds turning southerly. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Tonight:

Cloudy with heavy rain across Orkney this evening and strong winds. Shetland starts drier with bright spells, then cloud thickens as rain arrives overnight, becoming patchy later for all areas. Minimum temperature 8 °C.

Friday 12 June :

Cloudy start with rain over Orkney spreading north to reach Shetland by the afternoon. Bright spells and a few showers over Orkney once rain clears. Strong westerly winds for Orkney. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

A cloudy start with showers on Saturday before turning drier with bright spells developing. Sunday and Monday will be dry with sunny spells. Breezy Saturday then winds easing.
