A mostly dry and bright morning with some hazy sunny spells. Turning cloudier through the afternoon for Orkney with the odd spot of rain, but remaining mainly dry for Shetland. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Tonight:

A rather cloudy evening with some late brightness for Shetland, but outbreaks of rain soon arriving for Orkney. Rain turns heavy for a time as it spreads to Shetland overnight. Minimum temperature 10 °C.

Wednesday 17 June :

A cloudy and wet start for Shetland, but drier and brighter for Orkney. Sunny spells developing as rain clears Shetland, but a few afternoon showers developing for Orkney. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

A changeable period with showers or outbreaks of rain interspersed with some bright or sunny spells.
