Today 4 July :

A cloudy morning with rain spreading eastwards and giving some heavy downpours at times, especially over Shetland. Cloud and rain clearing to the east in the afternoon with long sunny spells developing. Fresh to strong southwesterly winds becoming northwesterly. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Tonight:

A dry evening with patchy cloud and late sunny spells. Staying mostly dry with clear spells overnight, but an isolated light shower possible. Fresh northwesterly winds becoming westerly. Minimum temperature 9 °C.

Sunday 5 July :

A largely dry day with sunny spells and the odd isolated shower possible. Cloud spreading northwards into Orkney in the afternoon. Light westerly winds. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Remaining unsettled with scattered showers or longer spells of rain at times spreading eastwards, interspersed with drier and brighter spells. Often windy.
