Bright spells and showers, the showers heavy and frequent at times. The west or southwest winds will become strong to gale force across Orkney, lighter and more variable in Shetland. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Tonight:

Further showers through the evening and overnight, heavy and frequent at times. Strong to gale force westerly winds over Orkney will ease a touch, but winds strengthen for Shetland overnight. Minimum temperature 11 °C.

Saturday 5 September :

Bright with sunny spells and some showers, becoming lighter and more isolated through the day. Strong westerly winds at first will become light through the afternoon. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Windy with rain and then showers on Sunday. Bright spells and showers on Monday. Occasionally heavy showers or longer spells of rain on Tuesday and becoming windy for a time.
